Only a short distance from Sydney, the South Coast is peppered with quaint seaside towns and breathtaking scenery. Whether you love hunting for unique pieces of local art and antiques or relaxing with a picnic by a crystal-clear river, you will come back feeling exhilarated after this day trip.
The South Coast is a favourite of the Splendour team. We suggest taking this tour in a luxury convertible sports car. Top off, sunglasses on and buckle up for an damn fine day of fresh sea air and lush countryside vistas.
Take the two hour drive from Sydney through coastal Wollongong and stop for a coffee at the quaint town of Berry, where you can pick up a piece of locally made art at the rustic Flying Pig Precinct gallery. Wind your way through lush greenery up to the Kangaroo Valley and stop to breathe in the fresh air or enjoy a picnic prepared from local produce at the edge of the river before heading back to Sydney via coastal Kiama.
If you can’t get enough of these gorgeous Aussie coastal towns, extend the trip for an extra day and drive further south, staying at the divine Hyams Beach, where you can watch dolphins frolic or motor on to Mollymook and stay the night at the world renowned Bannisters hotel.
